By Zemen A. Habtemariam - Gertrude Martin, an eight-year resident of a former Laurel-based community, is looking forward to her new apartment.

"It's going to be a wonderful place to live," Martin said.

Baltimore County streetscapes breathe new life into older communities By Sara Michael - It’s a wonder what hanging flower baskets can do for a community. In Towson, new flower baskets and new benches — part of the area’s streetscape improvements — have helped give the area a sense of place, and shown residents and businesses that the county cares about and is reinvesting in the community, said Nancy Hafford, executive director of the Towson Chamber of Commerce.
Williamsburg Homes is 'built' for success By Jon Gallo - Chip Lundy wants to make it perfectly clear. “Williamsburg Homes is not what you would call a company,” the chairman said as he leans forward in his chair. “It's a family business. I don't have business associates here – I see them more as family members. We look out for each other here and that's a big reason we've been successful.”

The state’s other ‘Harbor’ continues to lure tourist to Prince George's County

By Zemen Habtemariam and Catherine Irwin  - On a nice day, people can be found at the National Harbor taking photos of a major statue depicting a man submerged in the sand with a panicked expression.
The statue, known as “The Awakening,” relocated to the Harbor from its former home at Hains Point and sits along the shore facing away from the Potomac River.

The Harbor, which is located in Oxon Hill, has undergone developments to become a growing attraction in Prince George’s County for tourism, business and other forms of commerce. It appears to be doing for Prince George’s what the Inner Harbor did for Baltimore when it first opened 30 years ago.
